Summary:
Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist is responsible for monitoring, inspecting and proposing measures to correct or improve all final products in order to meet established quality standards. The QA Specialist will develop these standards, conduct testing and identify issues in the production of our products. They will lead the Quality team, Production Leadership and associates through projects/training to standardize quality initiatives based off of the established quality standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Process Development 60%:
Develop and prepare Quality Assurance policies and procedures by observing, inspecting and assessing current practices
Create and document standardized Quality measurement standards and specifications for all products lines
Develop quality processes and procedures that ensure final products meet established quality standards
Develop and document individualized department training programs/courses/sessions to improve associate handling and preparation of products in order to meet customer quality satisfaction requirements
Identify workflow and production issues and develop and implement solutions to maintain the highest level of quality work
Create a standardized internal re-print process to eliminate material waste and provide a high quality final product
Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action and preventive action for process and product related non-conformances
Identify and document processes where the organization is meeting standard requirements, as well as identify opportunities for improvement
Support all aspects of internal quality audit system program from audit planning, implementation, feedback and re-audit by working effectively with all levels of management and team members
Establish a team building environment that engages all levels of production in standardizing production quality measures at all levels of the production floor.
Quality Auditing 40%:
Lead/Conduct in-process auditing/inspection of completed products and packages for all manufactured products and workstations to ensure they meet all established quality standards
Lead/Conduct in-process observation and auditing of Production Associates while they manufacture products to ensure they are following documented work instructions and best practices when performing their job functions
Lead/Develop and implement the construction and implementation of Work Instructions; modify and document Work Instructions as needed.
Track, record, report and compile quality audit results
Maintain effective and positive communication channels with management and personnel concerning safety, quality, and any issues as they arise.
Coordinate and train Production Associates on appropriate and correct quality standards
Coordinate and train Production Associate on steps involved in meeting and maintaining quality standards (Work Instructions)
Mentor Quality team members around systems development
Generate and participate in quality improvement projects
Perform all duties in compliance with all safety rules and regulations
Maintain general housekeeping and participate in 6S.
Perform other duties as assigned
